Because of this, creatures and humans alike pursue them with savage urgency — often consuming them raw and as quickly as possible after death in hopes of gaining insight, leverage, or blackmail over the deceased.
This practice is believed to imitate beings like Krag, communications troopers capable of performing similar acts naturally. What others attempt through ritual and brutality, creatures like Krag accomplish as instinct.
